Tommy J. Burns
Tommy Burns' family moved to the Las Vegas area when he was just a year old. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1970. He jointed the Henderson Police Department in August 1974 as a patrol officer. In 1991, he was appointed captain and attended the FBI National Academy. He was then appointed Chief of Police in September 1994. Burns held a number of assignments in his career and served for five years as Chief of Police before retiring in September 1999.
