Lieutenant Angell was born in New York but considers herself a Nevada native as she moved to the Las Vegas Valley in 1981. An athlete and honors student, she graduated high school with honors and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from UNLV in 1993.
Law Enforcement History
Lieutenant
Angell was hired as a Corrections Officer in May of 1994 when the average daily
population was minimal. During this timeframe the Detention Center was
undergoing an expansion to a larger facility which was completed in October of
1994. She was promoted to Sergeant in 1996 and ultimately promoted to
Operations Lieutenant in June of 2000. As an operations Lieutenant, she was
primarily responsible for policies and procedure and the activities pertaining
to them and was responsible for many major operational improvements like inmate
commissary and other inmate programs. Lieutenant Angell also designed the new
booking area for the Detention Center expansion. Currently as Support
Lieutenant, she handles the various support activities which includes but it not
limited to Prison Health Services, Contracts, Culinary, Recruitment and
Training, Commissary and Strategic Planning. Lieutenant Angell is also active
in the Henderson Police Supervisor’s Association as the Grievance Committee
Chairperson since 2006.
