Overview
The Wetlands Trail Connection Phase Two will provide the only trailhead and restroom facility for hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians using the north end of the River Mountains Loop Trail between Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Clark County Wetlands Park. The project requires the design and construction of two trailheads and includes the design of a pedestrian/bicyclist bridge to connect the Wetlands Trail Phase One project with the trail system in the Clark County Wetlands Park. The hiking path, extending north of the wash, will additionally allow for a key connection to the planned Rainbow Gardens.

History
The Wetlands Trail is part of the Regional Trails Plan, which was approved by the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition on Aug. 23, 2001. The trail is part of the Non-Motorized Alternative Transportation Mode Master Plan, which was approved by the Regional Transportation Commission in July 2004.
