Reserve a Park
The picnic areas (with a few exceptions) are available to all citizens on a
first-come, first-served basis unless the area has been reserved through our
reservation system. Individuals or groups may pay for a rental to reserve a
specific picnic area. All reservations must be made at least two weeks in
advance of the event. Henderson-based companies and residents may reserve picnic
areas up to 180 days prior to the event. Those who wish to use the park are not
required to pay. However, should a party reserve that particular park
area, those who have not paid the park rental will have to relocate.

and Recreation Master Plan
The City of Henderson is helping to "Take a Bite out of Crime®.” Our Parks and Recreation Department staff members are trained to assist children in emergency situations. The message of the McGruff Truck program is, "We'll Call for Help."
A McGruff Truck is easy to spot. The McGruff Truck symbol, located on the front and rear of each Parks and Recreation Department vehicle with a City logo, identifies vehicles and their drivers as sources for help. Every driver of a City of Henderson vehicle marked with a McGruff sticker has been trained to provide assistance when approached by a child waving both their hands— they call for assistance immediately and stay with the child until help arrives.
Children are taught about the McGruff Truck program by elementary school D.A.R.E. and/or resource officers and are instructed to wave both hands above their heads if they need assistance from a McGruff Truck.
A McGruff Truck driver does not administer first aid (except in extreme emergencies) or medicine of any kind, provide transportation, or place the child in the truck. The driver does not act as a law enforcement officer, or approach unless the child is clearly in trouble. Visit the McGruff Truck Youth Watch Coalition on the
Las Vegas Metro Police Department's Website or visit McGruff.org for more information.
