Henderson’s Sunset Walk on Anthem East Trail Set for Nov. 14
HENDERSON, Nev.— The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its annual Sunset Walk on Anthem East Trail from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. Participants will meet at Anthem Hills Park, 2256
N. Reunion Dr. (N. Reunion Drive and Sonatina Drive). Register online at cityofhenderson.com (activity 254092-95), at any City of Henderson recreation center, or at the park starting at 3:45 p.m. just prior to the walk. Participation is free for all ages.
This year’s walk is two miles round trip, which enables participants to explore new portions of the trail on asphalt and natural walking surfaces. The first half of the walk is one mile uphill to an overlook.
“Walkers can expect to see some of the finest sunset and city views found anywhere in the Las Vegas Valley,” said Jennifer Magby, Outdoor Recreation coordinator, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “The Sunset Walk also provides an additional benefit – healthy exercise that is appropriate for the whole family. Children who are exposed to outdoor recreation and physical fitness at a young age tend to keep those healthy habits as they grow into teens and adults. It’s a benefit for life.”
