Downtown Recreation Center Hosting Wii Bowling Tournament Jan. 16
HENDERSON, Nev. – The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s Downtown Recreation Center (105. W. Basic Rd.) is hosting a Wii bowling tournament at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16. Participation is $2 per person. Register online at cityofhenderson.com (activity 381010-53) starting Jan. 6. The tournament features friendly bowling competition, snacks, and prizes. People of all ages are welcome to participate.
“What makes our Wii Sports tournaments so unique is that they give everyone a chance to participate and succeed, regardless of age or ability,” said Nick McLemore, Recreation Services supervisor, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “Wii technology makes it possible for anyone to enjoy a sports experience and, unlike traditional video games, it gets people up and off the couch to do it.”
The Downtown Recreation Center will host additional Wii tournaments in the months ahead, including tennis and baseball. For additional information, call 267-4040.
