Aquatic Event Invites Pooches to the Pool
Doggie Paddle & Play Day Sept. 19

HENDERSON, Nev. – Dog owners can bring their four-legged friends to the Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool (250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.) on Saturday, Sept. 19 for the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s Doggie Paddle & Play Day. Dogs weighing 50 lbs. or less swim 9:00-10:15 a.m., and dogs weighing 50 lbs. or more swim 10:45 a.m. to noon. Admission is $2 per dog. Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to check in. All dogs must be dog and people friendly and be properly licensed.

The Henderson Multigenerational Activity Pool has a graduated entry, making it easy for the dogs to walk in and out of the pool as they please. In addition to swimming, the event features several contests, including pet/owner look-alike, best pet outfit and funny pet tricks.

“The dogs will certainly have fun, but I think their owners will enjoy it even more—people love recreational activities that include their pets.” said Angela Hester, Aquatics supervisor for the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department.

Dogs will not be allowed on the slides or play features, and no people are permitted in the pool during the event. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. The pool will be drained for cleaning and maintenance immediately following the event.
