Gospel Fest Celebrates Black History Month
Free Event Feb. 25-26 at Black Mountain Recreation Center


HENDERSON, Nev. – The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department and Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism, along with KCEP Power 88 are co-hosting Gospel Fest, a free annual event honoring Black History Month. The event takes place Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd. Admission is free for all ages, but tickets are recommended by calling 267-4040.

A celebration of dance takes place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, and features liturgical, modern, jazz, African, and praise dance. Performers include Reign Dance Company, Out of Mime, Kiana Oliver, Victory Missionary Baptist Church Movement Ministry, and Fredrick Westbrook.

Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, a celebration of song will feature Ken Young and Friends, the Voices of Mountaintop, Voices of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, Friends of Gospel (F.O.G.), and Kevin Williams.

Vendors will be selling CDs, apparel, beverages, and food items starting at 4:00 p.m. on both days.

The City of Henderson is neutral on matters of religion and does not endorse any religion or religious viewpoint by way of its sponsorship of Gospel Fest.
