Saguaro Power Company Makes Donation to TreesHenderson
Initiative Includes Tree Plantings and Sustainability Efforts
HENDERSON, Nev.— Saguaro Power Company has donated $4,000 to the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s TreesHenderson urban forestry initiative. The funds will be used to purchase trees for a community planting from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 6 along Pittman Wash, from Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grand Blvd., to Valle Verde Drive. The public is invited to join in and help plant a tree.
“Saguaro Power Company and its employees have been actively involved in tree planting and sustainability efforts here in Henderson for the past several years,” said Lisa Ortega, urban forester, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “Thanks to their generosity, we will be able to engage people throughout the community and teach them about the important role trees play in our quality of life.”
In addition to helping with the planting, the Parks and Recreation Department’s certified arborists will be on hand to share their knowledge.
