November Events Put Twist On Traditional Garage Sales

HENDERSON, Nev.— The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two events designed to bring bargain hunters and sellers together in November. A Giant Garage Sale will be held from 7:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd. It features approximately 50 sellers and items ranging from toys and household items to tools and clothing. Those wishing to sell items at this event may reserve a space online at cityofhenderson.com (activity 154001-02) or in person at any City of Henderson recreation center.

Upscale Yard Sale will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 at Heritage Park Senior Facility, 300 S. Racetrack Rd. It features approximately 30 vendors and includes new and handmade items such as jewelry, knickknacks and more. Vendor space is sold out for this event. Both sales are open to shoppers of all ages.

“We’re finding that many people would like to have their own yard sales, but are unable to do so because they either live in a gated community or because they have concerns about privacy,” said Nick McLemore, Recreation Services supervisor, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “Our events not only eliminate those concerns, but they also attract far more shoppers than a traditional yard sale ever could. We handle all of the promotion and signage so sellers can focus on selling and buyers can simply find great bargains.”
