Moms and Children Invited to Mad Hatter Tea Party
HENDERSON, Nev. – Moms and children can celebrate an early Mother’s Day at the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s Mad Hatter Tea Party. The event takes place from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr. Participation is $25 per parent/child pair, and is open to kids ages 4-12. Register online at cityofhenderson.com (activity 151048-36) or at any City of Henderson recreation center by May 1.
The event includes themed games, crafts and refreshments. Moms and children can wear or make their own funny hats to wear in the crazy hat parade.
“The Mad Hatter’s tea party was one of the most memorable scenes in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ because it was anything but a traditional tea party,” said Lenore Budyach, Recreation Services supervisor, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “Our tea party isn’t very traditional either, but like the Mad Hatter’s, it will be packed with silliness and plenty of fun.”
