City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department Hosting Fall Cooking Workshops

HENDERSON, Nev. – The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting several demonstration cooking workshops in November. Each workshop is $35 per person with an additional $10 for supplies due to the instructor at class. Participants will be able to sample each dish. Register online at cityofhenderson.com using the activity number listed or visit any City of Henderson recreation center.

Italian Basics—5:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2 (activity 174048-24). Ages 12 and up. Location: Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Menu includes pasta e fagioli (bean soup), homemade pasta, marinara sauce, and pasta with creamy mushroom sauce.

Thai Cooking: The Basics—11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 (activity 174019-78). Ages 50 and up. Location: Heritage Park Senior Facility, 300 S. Racetrack Rd. Menu includes hot and sour shrimp soup, Thai lettuce wraps, spicy meat patties, and basil chicken.

Mexican Cooking—5:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 9 (activity 174021-24). Ages 12 and up. Location: Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Dishes include albondigas soup, Mexican rice, chili Colorado, and chicken in mole sauce.

Serve 4 Spend $20—5:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19 (activity 174047-29). Ages 18 and up. Location: Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy. Enjoy new lunch ideas, simple meals and weekend treats.
