Henderson Hosting Free Major League Baseball Pitch,
Hit & Run Competition April 3
HENDERSON, Nev. – The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation is hosting the Aquafina Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitch, Hit & Run Competition from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Morrell Park, 500 Harris St. The free event is open to youth ages 7-14. Each participant must bring a copy of their birth certificate and sign a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. The program is designed to provide youth an opportunity to take part in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Players are grouped into four age divisions (ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14) and may advance through four levels of competition, including team championships at Major League ballparks and the national finals at the 2010 MLB All-Star Game.
Individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with an all-around champion in each age group, will be awarded and advance to the sectional level of competition.
