Free Forum Discusses Medications Made Easy
HENDERSON, Nev.—The City of Henderson Senior Citizens Advisory Commission is hosting a free forum entitled “Medications Made Easy” from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Heritage Park Senior Facility, 300 S. Racetrack Rd. It is open to people 50+.
The speaker is Terri Gurevich, hospice certified community outreach coordinator with Nathan Adelson Hospice. The presentation will focus on the importance of making a list of all medications and herbal supplements one takes, and keeping it with them at all times. The list should include the medication or supplement name, dosage, frequency, and the condition for which it is taken. This information could be invaluable in an emergency as it can alert emergency medical and hospital personnel to potential side effects or interactions between various substances.
The Henderson Senior Citizens Advisory Commission is comprised of appointed citizen volunteers who make recommendations to the City Council on issues of interest to senior citizens and others. The commission hosts a free educational forum every other month.
