Fall Registration Set For Henderson Parks and Recreation Programs

HENDERSON, Nev. – Online registration for the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s fall programs, classes and events begins at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 9 for aquatics and Youth Enrichment programs, and at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11 for most other programs. Register at cityofhenderson.com. Walk-in registration for all programs will be accepted starting Aug. 16 at every City of Henderson recreation center, pending space availability.

Henderson Happenings, the department’s guide to parks and leisure opportunities, is a comprehensive publication that lists the hundreds of classes and activities that are available for the fall sessions. The publication may be viewed online at cityofhenderson.com, and copies are available at all City of Henderson recreation centers and aquatic facilities.

More than 100 new classes have been added for the fall, including gymnastics, puppetry, baton twirling, art for preschoolers, and a book club for adults. There are also more than 40 events and 67 different workshops to choose from, ranging from seasonal-themed activities for children to fitness hikes and cooking demonstrations. The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department operates seven recreation centers (including one facility for adults 50+ only), eleven pools, 50 parks, five skate parks, more than 60 linear miles of trail, Acacia Demonstration Gardens, and the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve.
