2009 Henderson Holiday Decorating Contest Winners Announced
HENDERSON, Nev. –The Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission (HCBC) announced the winners of its 2009 annual holiday decorating contest at a ceremony held at the city’s Winterfest celebration last weekend. Nearly 50 entries were received in all. Winners include:
Residential—less than 1,000 lights First place: Joe and Nick Sacco, 354 Santa
Second place: Rose Rhinehart, 1277 Dean Ct.
Residential— more than 1,000 lights
First place: Thomas Blackburn, 2470 Aladdin Lamp St.
Second place: James Raike, 243 Atlantic Ave. Third place: Shannon Erickson, 1161 Paradise Safari Dr.
First place: 10 homeowners living on Quiver Point Avenue: Richard and Elvia Beasley, Justin and Jessica Colarco, Lloyd and Carol Emmert, James and Kelly Theobald, Gary and Heather Green, Steve and Brenda Jennings, Robert and Mary Jo Koorndyk, Herb and Tanya Okada, the Sauters, and Francisco and Mary Soto.

Second place: Marian and William Haven, 2268 Early Frost Ave. Third place: Lorraine Shaver, 925 Blue Arroyo Dr.
In addition to the winners, nine residents received honorable mention awards for their participation in the program, which was judged by members of the HCBC.

The Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission is comprised of appointed citizen volunteers. The commission works to develop plans for the beautification of public areas within Henderson city limits.
