Arbor Day
| The City of Henderson hosts its annual Arbor Day
celebration the last Friday in April at
Morrell Park.
This free event is open to people of all ages.
The event includes an Arbor Day proclamation reading, tree climbing demonstrations, a play performed by members of the Basic High School thespian group, recognition of Arbor Day poster contest winners, and a commemorative tree dedication and planting. The celebration also includes the City of Henderson’s acceptance of the Tree City USA award, a recognition sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
