World’s Greatest Tribute Bands Rock the Henderson Pavilion
#Flashback Series features covers of early Van Halen, the Beastie Boys, and icons of disco and funk

April 23, 2014

The city of Henderson presents #Flashback Series next month at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. The concert series features The Atomic Punks, a tribute to early Van Halen, Saturday, May 3; Boogie Wonder Band, a ‘70s disco and funk cover band, Saturday, May 17; and the original Beastie Boys tribute Rhymin N Stealin, Saturday, May 31. All concerts start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 per show or $25 for the entire series.

Featured on season one of AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, the Atomic Punks pay homage to vintage Van Halen, the David Lee Roth era. “Diamond” Dave has proclaimed the Atomic Punks as “the best Van Halen tribute ever,” and he’s not alone. Alex Van Halen and Sammy Hagar are fans, and so are Howard Stern and Bret Michaels. Named “Tribute Band of the Year” at the LA Music Awards, the Atomic Punks recreate the energy and excitement of early Van Halen, rocking the house with such classic old-school hits like “Jump,” “Runnin’ with the Devil” and “Panama.”

The Boogie Wonder Band is North America’s grooviest disco funk band. The 10-piece ensemble brings the sights and sounds of the ‘70s to Henderson with an electrifying show that will have everyone dancing like they did during the heyday of Studio 54. The Boogie Wonder Band cover songs by such legendary acts as Kool and the Gang, Donna Summer and The Bee Gees.

Coming off of their appearance on AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, Rhymin N Stealin is the first-known Beastie Boys tribute band. The trio is licensed to chill as they show why Mike D, MCA and Ad-Rock are hall of famers. Rhymin N Stealin recreate the Beastie Boys experience, performing the rappers’ greatest hits with the help of a full band and DJ. Check on the ones and twos with such favorites as “Fight for Your Right,” “Sabotage” and “Paul Revere.”
