Teacher Cindy Carr Receives Henderson's Community Pride Award

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Commemorative Beautification Commission named Cindy Carr, a fifth grade teacher at Robert Taylor Elementary School, the recipient of its Community Pride Award. The award was presented at the Henderson City Council meeting held June 3.
The Community Pride Award recognizes Henderson citizens, businesses and groups that have improved the appearance of their neighborhoods or properties, or added to the beauty or cleanliness of Henderson. Previous winners have included homeowners, homeowner’s associations, businesses and volunteers.
Carr was recognized for coordinating the cleanup and renovation of a desert tortoise habitat, cactus garden and vegetable garden located on her school’s campus. Carr worked with a variety of volunteer groups, and secured materials and funds to revitalize the 1.5-acre parcel.
