Henderson, Nev. – With the drop in temperatures during the winter months, many homeowners feel the effects of poor insulation or low-functioning heating units. The city of Henderson Weatherization Assistance Program can help income-qualified Henderson residents make energy efficient improvements to their home at no cost to the resident.
The Weatherization Assistance Program includes an assessment to determine weatherization needs. Improvements may include appliance repair or replacement, installing carbon monoxide detectors, duct sealing and insulation, attic insulation, low flow showerheads, water heater blankets and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
“At a time when budgets are tight, this program can help our residents make changes that will help reduce their energy bills and increase the comfort of their home,” said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen.
The program is available at no cost to income qualified residents. Qualification is based on household size and combined current gross income for everyone 18 years and older. Residents can call Neighborhood Services at (702) 267-2000 to see if they qualify.
