Parks and Recreation Job Fair Set For March 1

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr. Individuals ages 16 and up are invited to stop by, meet staff, and learn about more than 330 seasonal and part-time opportunities available.

Each participant is encouraged to bring a resume, if they have one, and be prepared for an on-site interview. Computers will be available for applicants to complete and submit applications online. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, but some positions have a minimum age requirement of 18. Applicants under the age of 18 must have a parent present to sign the appropriate paperwork.

Open part-time and seasonal positions may include food service assistants, lifeguards, recreation assistants and team leads. Duties many include assisting with youth summer camps, providing customer service at recreation center front desks, working in the kitchen at Heritage Park Senior Facility, driving Meals On Wheels trucks, and serving as lifeguards at the city’s pools.

Individuals interested in lifeguarding opportunities who have yet to earn their certifications will be provided with information about the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program, which is hosted at the city’s pools on a variety of dates and times.
