Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police apprehended two adults and one juvenile in connection with a kidnapping and robbery that began with a craigslist advertisement.
On Tuesday, July 8, a 43-year-old man responded to a personal ad posted on craigslist. He arranged to meet what he thought was one man at Trail Canyon Park, located at 1065 Trail Canyon Rd. Instead, the man was approached by the three suspects when he arrived at the park.
The man and three suspects walked to a nearby vacant house, where the suspects demanded the man’s property. The man did not comply and the suspects tied him up and beat him, then left the house with the man’s wallet, cell phone and keys.
The suspects returned to the park and drove off in the victim’s Chevrolet volt. The victim was able to free himself after a few minutes and walked to the Henderson Chevrolet car dealership on Gibson Road, where he called police at about 1 p.m.
Using OnStar GPS technology, Henderson Police officers located the parked vehicle at about 1:50 p.m. near Stephanie Street and Wigwam Parkway and set up surveillance. Two suspects returned to the vehicle and officers took 20-year-old Christopher Short and a 16-year-old male into custody without incident at about 3 p.m.
Henderson Police identified the third suspect, 18-year-old Trent Henrickson, and took him into custody today at about 1:30 p.m.
The two adult suspects are being held at the Henderson Detention Center on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, first degree kidnapping and grand larceny auto. The juvenile is being held at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
