A 44-year-old Henderson man killed his wife before killing himself in an apparent murder-suicide Saturday.
A passerby called 9-1-1 around 11 a.m. after seeing the man’s daughter crying outside of the home at 631 Karen Way, near Van Wagenen Street and Major Avenue. When Henderson Police arrived at the man’s home, the daughter told officers she found keys to his truck and money at her residence, and when she went to the home at 631 Karen Way, she found the man dead inside the home.
As officers and Henderson Fire entered the home, they found the 39-year-old wife dead from an apparent gunshot wound and the man dead from an apparent overdose.
The couple lived alone in the house. Henderson Police had not been called to the house for any domestic violence issues in the past.
The couple’s names will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after their families have been notified.
The woman’s death is the first murder in Henderson this year.
