Free Water Safety Day Event Educates Parents and Caregivers

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson’s free Water Safety Day event focuses on the importance of keeping children safe in and around the water. The event takes place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at Whitney Ranch Activity Pool, 1575 B Galleria Dr. Although participation is free, registration is recommended. Register at any recreation center or indoor pool or online at cityofhenderson.com.
Parents, guardians and child care providers will receive valuable information on how to safeguard homes, prevent accidents and injuries and properly respond to emergencies. Demonstrations include basic water rescue, CPR, first aid and water safety techniques.
Registered adults attending the event may receive a certificate valid for free swimming lessons for a child ages 6 months for 4 years (while supplies last). Priority registration for Learn-to-Swim classes will also be available for registered participants. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian within arm’s reach at all times.
