New to this year’s festival, organizers have created new art experiences for art enthusiasts. Between 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day, Artscape Avenue features a variety of artists demonstrating their craft, including glass blowing, pottery throwing, wool spinning and weaving, and Henna art. The event also includes group painting sessions, where artists teach students of all skill levels how to create their own masterpiece.
In addition to fine artists, the city of Henderson is also seeking chalk artists for the chalk art competition. Squares in three different sizes are available and there is no cost to participate. Cash prizes, courtesy of several community partners, will be awarded for first ($200), second ($150) and third ($100) place in the student category (17 years old or younger) and for first ($200) and second ($150) place in the adult category.
