The city of Henderson encourages residents to ride their bikes to Bike Swap & Ride, the only event of its kind in the valley. The bike expo takes place Saturday, March 29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Pkwy. Admission is free.
“Henderson is a premier biking community,” said Mayor Andy Hafen. “By hosting events such as Bike Swap & Ride, it allows residents of all biking abilities the opportunity to learn and enjoy the biking amenities our premier city has to offer.”
The bike swap is a chance for bicycle enthusiasts to trade and sell up to five gently used bikes and bike parts for different types of bicycles, including road, BMX, mountain and children’s bikes. Bike fans may also shop for new bicycles, accessories and gear, including shoes, clothing and helmets, from local bike shops and businesses in the vendor marketplace.
The event also features a new fun ride hosted by Biking Las Vegas, a local website dedicated to cycling in the valley, at 7 a.m. The 90-minute bike ride begins and ends at Cornerstone Park, and will be approximately 20 miles. Bagels, coffee and juice will be provided post-ride.
Other activities include bicycle repairs, bike recycling, demonstrations and a bicycle safety course. In addition, a free bike valet will be offered for those wishing to park their bikes during the event.
