Registration Available For City of Henderson Summer Camps

Henderson, Nev. – Registration for the city of Henderson’s premier summer camp programs is open and ongoing. Available programs include Summer Kids Zone and Teen Kamp. Parents may reserve their child’s place for any week in the program with a $20 deposit per family per week for each program. Registration is accepted at all city of Henderson recreation centers, by mail, and online.
Summer Kids Zone is offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 10 through Aug. 23. The program provides supervised activities that may include arts and crafts, drama, music, games, swimming, field trips and special events. There are five locations to choose from: Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Rd.’ Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy.; Bob Miller Middle School, 2400 Cozy Hill Circle; Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy.; and Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Dr. Participation is open to children ages 5-12 for $99 per week, with sibling discounts available.
For teens, Teen Kamp is available 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 10 through Aug. 9 at Bob Miller Middle School. It is open to teens ages 12-15 for $110 per week, with sibling discounts offered. The program offers leadership opportunities as teens take part in themed activities each week that range from baking and outdoor exploration to movies and riding roller coasters.
“Summer Kids Zone and Teen Kamp provide working parents with peace of mind when school is out for the summer,” said Mayor Andy Hafen. “The camps also provide children and teens with a summer full of enjoyment and opportunities to socialize with their peers. These are memories that will last a lifetime.”
