Henderson Fire Department Responds to Residential Structure Fire

Henderson, Nev. – At 01:40 a.m., the city of Henderson Fire Department responded to a reported home on fire in the area of Pecos Road and Wigwam Parkway. The occupant of the home was asleep when the smoke detector alerted her. She discovered a fire in the garage and activated the 911 system.
The first Henderson Fire Department unit arrived to find a fire in a wall of the attached garage of a two-story residence. The fire crews initiated an offensive attack by entering the garage, opening the wall, quickly locating the fire and extinguishing the flames. One person and two dogs were displaced from their home and were assisted by the American Red Cross.
The Henderson Fire Department fire investigator has not yet determined the cause of the fire. A Henderson building inspector was called to the scene to assist the Fire Department. Nevada Energy and Southwest Gas were also called to the scene to secure the utilities to the home. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
