Henderson Candidate Filing Begins Today

Candidates interested in running for an elected office in the 2013 city of Henderson Municipal Elections can file their application beginning today.  Offices up for election include Mayor; Councilman, Ward III; and Municipal Court Judge, Department I. The term of office for Mayor and Councilman is four years and the term of office for Municipal Court Judge is six years.

WHEN: January 22-24 and January 28-31
          8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

WHERE: In person at the Office of the Henderson City Clerk
           Henderson City Hall
           1st Floor
           240 Water Street

Early voting for the Primary Municipal Election will be available between March 16 and March 29 at Henderson City Hall, Galleria at Sunset, and neighborhood voting sites.

Primary Municipal Election Day is April 2 and registered Henderson voters may cast their ballot at any of the 10 vote centers conveniently located throughout Henderson on Election Day.

Introduced in the 2007 Henderson Municipal Election, vote centers allow registered Henderson voters to cast their vote on Municipal Election Day at any of the 10 locations within Henderson. The vote centers are strategically selected throughout the city of Henderson offering greater convenience than the traditional precinct-based voting locations.
