Divorced Henderson Couple Dead in Murder-Suicide

March 05, 2013

Henderson, Nev. – A 54-year-old Henderson man killed his ex-wife in her home while their teenage son was in the next room before killing himself in an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday evening.

A 13-year-old boy called 9-1-1 about 5:30 p.m. and when officers arrived they found his 47-year-old mother shot to death in the house in the 100 block of Andada Drive, near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Arroyo Grande Boulevard. The boy’s father was found dead in his car parked in front of the house from an apparent self-inflected gunshot wound. The boy was not injured.

The man came to his ex-wife’s house Tuesday and the pair started arguing. At some point the man apparently pulled out a handgun shooting and killing the woman. He then left the house and got into his car and killed himself.

The man and woman also had an 11-year-old son who lived with the man. Both of the children were unharmed and were being taken care of by relatives.

The names of the man and woman will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after their families have been notified.

The woman’s death is the first murder in Henderson this year.
