Henderson, Nev. – Residents driving by a vacant lot and wondering what may be built there someday now have a tool to help answer that question. The city of Henderson now offers an online land development activity map showing projects that will be heard by the Planning Commission every month.
Common types of projects shown on the map include applications for zone changes, conditional use permits, variances, design reviews and vacations. The map will provide a brief description of the project, the application number and name, the name of the applicant for the project, status of the project, and the reviewing planner’s name and contact information.
“Our citizens requested an easier way to learn about building activity and changes in their neighborhood,” explained Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen. “The online land development activity map makes these types of projects transparent to Henderson residents and businesses.”
The map will be updated monthly and available one week prior to each Planning Commission meeting. Residents can access the map at cityofhenderson.com, within the Community Development Department, under the Planning Commission tab.
Henderson residents and business owners may voice their opinion of a project by attending the Planning Commission meeting, held once a month on the Thursday before the second regular City Council meeting, or by using Contact Henderson at cityofhenderson.com.
