Henderson, NV –Mother’s Day weekend once again signals the return of a Henderson tradition. Art Festival of Henderson will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 Water St., in the historic Water Street District. Admission is complimentary. (Some activities may require paid admission.)

The juried art show will feature row after row of select artisan and crafter booths, displaying and selling a variety of artwork including paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and photography. Families will also enjoy live entertainment and food vendors.

Children will again be able to participate in a variety of arts and crafts activities when they visit the Imagination Station. New this year is the Rotating Education Tent which will give children a hands-on connection to science, wildlife, history, and, of course, art. Activities at the tent will be scheduled from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

The popular Piazza Colori, an adaptation of an Italian street painting tradition, returns to the Events Plaza’s deck. Local artists have the opportunity to create colorful and complex chalk works of art at the Henderson Events Plaza. Piazza Colori is again sponsored by the Rotary Club of Green Valley. Proceeds benefit a number of Henderson charities.

The work of a featured artist for this year’s
Hubcap Art Gallery will be on display inside the Convention Center, 200 Water St. The Hubcap Art Gallery is part of Henderson’s Super Run Classic Car Show, which will be held Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, September 29.

The Art Festival of Henderson draws thousands of Henderson and Southern Nevada residents, as well as visitors from around the Southwest.
