Henderson, Nev. – Three Henderson teens have been arrested in connection with at least eight incidents where people were shot with a paintball gun over the past two weeks, including two people who were shot in the eye.

Robert Lockwood, 18, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center Wednesday night on five counts of discharging a weapon where a person might be endangered and five counts of conspiracy. A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were booked into the Clark County juvenile detention center Wednesday on the same charges. The 16-year-old faces eight counts each of the two charges and the 17-year-old faces three counts each of the two charges.

There were three separate incidents on Dec. 19 when victims reported to police that they had been shot by paintball. The shot came from a passing car all in the Boulder Highway area.

Two days later, two more victims reported being shot with a paintball gun. In one, the victim reported the car slowed down and someone in the car fired at the victim hitting him in the head. The second attack on that day, the victim said the driver of a car pulled up to him as he was walking and asked for directions. As the victim was giving the directions, someone in the backseat fired at him, striking him in the head.

On the day after Christmas attacks continued and the injuries became more serious. A 22-year-old man working at Wal-Mart on Lake Mead Parkway was collecting shopping carts in the parking lot when the driver of a car pulled up to him and asked directions. When the victim was giving the directions, the passenger in the car shot him in the eye. He was taken to St. Rose Hospital’s Rose de Lima Campus for treatment.

On Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, two more people reported being shot in the face including another man shot in the eye.

The last reported attack on Dec. 28 followed the same pattern. The driver of a car pulled over to ask a person walking on Major Avenue near Morrell Park for directions. The 22-year-old man leaned in to give directions, and then a person inside the car fired a paintball gun striking him in the eye. The suspects then drove off and parked nearby, yelling threats at the victim as he waited to be taken to the hospital.

Officers located the car used in the attacks. A paintball gun was found in the trunk of the car. The three suspects did not have any reason for the attacks and did not know any of the victims prior to the attacks.

There could be other people who were victims in a similar attack but who have not contacted the police. We encourage any other victims to contact the Henderson Police.
