Henderson, Nev. – Two teenagers and an 86-year-old man died in a car crash in Green Valley Saturday afternoon.

A Dodge Stratus driven by a 19-year-old Henderson man with two passengers was heading eastbound on Windmill Parkway approaching Thayer Avenue near Green Valley Parkway about 2:50 p.m. Saturday. The Stratus collided with a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by an 86-year-old Henderson man who was attempting to turn left into an apartment complex from westbound Windmill Parkway.

The 19-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the Stratus, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center for treatment.

The 86-year-old man, the only person in the PT Cruiser, was taken to Sunrise Hospital Medical Center, but he later died from his injuries.

A preliminary investigation suggests that speed and no seat belt use by those in the Stratus contributed to the accident and severity of the injuries.

Windmill Parkway was closed for about four hours while the accident investigation was being conducted.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victims’ names after their families have been notified.

This was the first fatal accident in Henderson this year.
