HENDERSON, Nev. – Once school is out it’s time to slide in to summer with the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. Slide In To Summer will be held

5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8 at Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Dr. Admission to the all-ages event is free, but a donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit Hope Link would be appreciated. The first 100 people to register in advance will receive a surprise at the event. Register at cityofhenderson.com/parks (activity 336311-00) or at any City of Henderson indoor pool or recreation center.

Slide In To Summer includes a giant slip and slide for all ages, mini slip and slide for younger children, bounce house, lawn games, super human bowling, and sun safety tips. Light concessions will also be available for purchase.

“People have loved slip and slides since they were first introduced in the early 1960s, and they’ve been a staple of backyard summer fun ever since. This event takes things a step further by putting a giant slip and slide on the hill at Anthem Hills Park,” said Adam Blackmore, Aquatics manager, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. “The slope at the park provides the perfect amount of velocity for an exhilarating and very wet slide down to the bottom.”

Participants (or their parent/guardian if under the age of 18) must sign a waiver at the event in order to take part. Beach towels are recommended as those sliding will get wet.
