HENDERSON, Nev.— When school is out, Summer Kids Zone and Teen Kamp are in. Registration for the City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department’s premier summer camp programs begins April 9 and will be ongoing until space fills.

Registration is accepted at any City of Henderson recreation center, by mail, or online at cityofhenderson.com (type summer camps in the search box). Space may be limited, so early enrollment is recommended. Parents can reserve their child’s place in any week (or weeks) in either program with a $20 deposit per family per week.

Summer Kids Zone is available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 11-Aug. 24, at five locations, including four of the City’s recreation centers and one school satellite site. Participation is $99 per child per week (ages 5-12), with sibling discounts available. Kids Zone is a summer camp program designed to enrich youth with a variety of supervised interactive activities when school is out for the summer. Activities include fitness and health, arts and crafts, drama, music, swimming, games, field trips, and special events. Programs are fully supervised, offering children a day of recreational fun while parents enjoy peace of mind.

For teens, Teen Kamp is available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, June 11-Aug. 10, at Bob Miller Middle School, 2400 Cozy Hill Circle. Participation is $110 per teen per week (ages 12-15), and sibling discounts are available. Teen Kamp offers mentoring and leadership opportunities as teens take part in engaging activities and memorable field trips. Each week features a theme, such as outdoor exploration, sports, and graphic arts. The program is supervised by staff members who understand and enjoy working with teens.
