Police Searching for Missing Hiker

Henderson, Nev. – Henderson Police are continuing to search today for a 64-year-old man who did not return from a hiking outing near Black Mountain.

James Klever left his home to go hiking about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday but he did not return home later that evening. His wife contacted police about 7 p.m. to report he had not returned from his hike.

Mr. Klever’s car was located on Pancho Via Drive at Horizon Ridge Parkway next to a desert area leading up to Black Mountain. Officers and K-9 Units searched the area Wednesday night into early this morning, but were unable to locate him. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Search and Rescue Unit also responded to assist with searching for the missing hiker.

The search for Mr. Klever began again today. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Mr. Klever is asked to contact Henderson Police immediately.
