Henderson, Nev. – The missing 64-year-old man last seen going for a hike on Black Mountain was found dead today from an apparent fall.
James Klever was found at the bottom of a ravine on Black Mountain about 10:30 a.m. today. He left his home to go hiking about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday but when he did not return home by 7 p.m., his wife called police.
Henderson Police started searching for Mr. Klever Wednesday night with the assistance of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police’s Search and Rescue but were unable to locate him.
Mr. Klever’s car was located on Pancho Via Drive at Horizon Ridge Parkway next to a desert area leading up to Black Mountain. He was found about a half mile from his car in the ravine.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death; however, no foul play is suspected.
