Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson will host the 46th annual Southern Nevada Sons of Erin St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, Thursday, March 15-Sunday, March 18 at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the historic Water Street District. The celebration will feature a parade, carnival, car show, concerts, demonstrations and more. Admission is complimentary (*Some activities may require paid admission).

This year, the parade will be held on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. In keeping with tradition, families will line the sidewalks of the Water Street District to see the 100-entry procession, complete with festive floats, bagpipers and Celtic dancers. All will be decorated to the theme, “Wearin’ O’ the Green,” and have a chance to win trophies for “Best of Theme,” “Prettiest,” “Greenest” or “Most Original.” This year’s honorary grand marshal is Henderson’s own, Mayor Andy Hafen.

The Irish-inspired event, which Henderson has hosted for nearly a decade, will also feature a carnival with an all-ages midway with an assortment of fun games, as well as exciting rides, from kid-friendly roller coasters and bumper cars to the more adventurous Gravitron and Ring of Fire. In addition, families will have a chance to enjoy their favorite carnival food specialties including funnel cakes, cotton candy and caramel apples.

Throughout the weekend, residents will experience an electrifying festival with a mixture of live entertainment, including special performances by local Irish bands and dance routines by youth ensembles, and vendors serving the best in Irish delicacies. The fair will also incorporate a head shaving fundraiser for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the childhood cancer research charity benefitting from the proceeds of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, Saturday, March 17 at 1 p.m.

The classic car show will return for a third consecutive time. In a short time frame, the attraction has quickly become popular with residents attending the holiday’s festivities. Once again, hundreds of hot rods, representing a variety of years, makes and models, will be on display in the Water Street District.
