Henderson Reveals Pavilion Spring 2012 Performance Schedule
City’s iconic amphitheatre hosts rock opera, Rodgers & Hammerstein fantasy, silent classics, laser light spectacular and more

Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson released the spring 2012 concert schedule at the Henderson Pavilion, the city’s premier performing arts center, today. Located at 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, Southern Nevada’s largest outdoor theatre features a thrilling lineup of affordable performances, productions and concerts, fit for any generation. Show tickets go on-sale tomorrow, Wednesday, February 8 at 10 a.m. on HendersonLive.com.

This season, the Pavilion ushers in the return of several hit shows, including The Symphonic Rock Show and a live orchestral screening of a Charlie Chaplin motion picture. In addition, the calendar is full with a new program of exciting productions, including a rock opera fit for a phantom, a spiritual music festival with an all-star lineup and a play of fairytale endings.

Below is the Henderson Pavilion show calendar for spring 2012. The schedule is subject to change.

Rock & Worship Roadshow

The Symphonic Rock Show

Vocalist Brody Dolyniuk reunites with Las Vegas’ Yellow Brick Road for an explosive night of classic rock, lasers and lights! Accompanied by a hand-selected orchestra, over 30 of the valley’s best musicians perform smash hits by classic rock legends including Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin.

The Las Vegas Shakespeare Company turns up the magic on this classic Rodgers & Hammerstein fairytale, live, on-stage! With the help of her Fairy Godmother, a little wish and a pair of glass slippers, Cinderella’s dreams really do come true for a happily ever after.

Blues & Brews Festival

The Blues & Brews Festival is the latest sensation in the ultimate tasting experience. A celebration of the world’s top brewers, the event serves up the best in delicious lagers, ciders and ales. Don’t miss hours of live entertainment by local and regional blues performers, including special appearances by Memphis’ Eric Gales and the “Queen of the Blues,” Shemekia Copeland.

The Phantom of the Opera
May 18-19 - 8 p.m. - Tickets only $10
Vox Lumiere, a five-time Grammy-nominated theatre company, turns heads with a fresh look on a timeless love story. Still the world-famous Parisian haunt, the new Phantom is an energetic, lavish rock opera, performed to the legendary 1925 silent film of the same name. Be seduced with this spellbinding production as you follow the story of the mysterious Phantom as he wreaks havoc in the “City of Lights,” all for the love and affection of a leading lady.

BBQ & Music Festival
May 25 - 2 p.m.-11 p.m. - May 26 - 10 a.m.-7 p.m. - Tickets start at $39
The BBQ & Music Festival is a competition amongst the country’s best grill masters. Held this Memorial Day weekend, the cook off allows fans to get up and close to the action, sampling some of the country’s most delicious BBQ treats, including brisket, ribs and more. The inaugural event also includes a mixture of musical entertainment including Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bootsy Collins, as well as other funk, soul and jazz icons.

Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times
June 1 - 8 p.m. - Tickets only $10
The Henderson Symphony Orchestra provides the musical score to Charlie Chaplin’s 1936 comedy, Modern Times, as it plays on a giant projection screen. Considered one of Chaplin’s greatest accomplishments, this popular film captures humanity’s survival during the rise of the Industrial Age.
