Henderson, Nev. – The City of Henderson Department of Cultural Arts & Tourism was recently honored by the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) for excellence in travel writing, photography and promotions, winning a 2011 NATJA Award for its self-producedDiscover Henderson video. The department received third place, or bronze level, in the Destination Video category of the competition, which recognized the “best of the best” in travel media and promotion that cover all facets of the travel industry worldwide. The grand prize was awarded to Ultimate Wave Tahiti: Beyond the Wave and Seattle won silver for its CityPassvideo.
“This is an esteemed honor,” said Mayor Andy Hafen. “We’re extremely proud to win this award. This recognition carries with it the honor and privilege of Henderson being identified among many of the world’s top tourism cities. With more than 500 entries from the U.S., Mexico, Canada and other countries submitted overall, Discover Henderson was chosen for its innovative approach to a multimedia endorsement of the entire city.
