Henderson Man Accused of Killing Woman Found in Arizona

Henderson, Nev. – A 42-year-old Henderson man faces extradition from Arizona in connection with the stabbing death of a woman found in a burning car near Kingman Tuesday.

John David Marshall is being held in the Mohave County Jail without bail awaiting an extradition hearing. He faces murder and kidnapping charges in connection with the slaying of an ex-girlfriend.

 A friend of the woman called 9-1-1 Tuesday about 11 a.m. saying that Marshall had called him saying that he had killed the woman and was driving to Boulder City to kill himself. Officers called Marshall several times, he reiterated what he had said to the woman’s friend but would not divulge his location.

The car was found on fire near Golden Valley, west of Kingman. The victim was found inside the burning car. Mohave County Sheriff deputies captured Marshall after he ran from the burning car.

The woman’s name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after her family has been notified.

The woman’s death is the first murder in Henderson this year.
