Henderson, Nev. – Four Henderson teens were arrested in connection with more than 25 incidents over the weekend where they fired BB guns at people, parked cars and houses.

Daniel G. Duncan, Jr., 19, Frank Rodriguez, 18, Adolfo Ortiz, 18, and a 17-year-old male were arrested Monday afternoon on nine counts of battery, 18 counts of tampering with a vehicle, two counts of destroying property and eight counts of aiming a gun at a person. The 17-year-old was charged as a juvenile and taken to the Clark County juvenile detention facility. The three others were booked into the Henderson Detention Center.

The incidents started occurring on Friday and continued throughout the weekend. The teens are accused of driving around shooting out windows of parked cars. The group is then accused of escalating and shooting at people and some moving vehicles. Most of the people hit by the BB guns suffered only minor injuries; however, a 13-year-old girl was struck and went to a hospital for treatment.

Police have received 18 complaints regarding windows being shot out, eight people reporting being fired at or hit and two houses suffering damage. Several of the victims were able to provide a basic description of the vehicle used and partial license plate information. On Monday, Henderson Police officers suspecting the suspects were teens decided to check high school parking lots in the vicinity of the attacks for the vehicle.

Police located a vehicle that matched the description and had the license plate information in the parking lot of Foothill High School. When officers looked inside two BB guns could be seen in plain view. The 17-year-old came out as police were there and asked about the BB guns and the recent shootings. The investigation then led to the three other suspects, who were all later arrested.

Most of the incidents occurred in the area of Boulder Highway on Henderson’s east side. The teens did not have any particular reason for firing the BB guns at the cars or people. It does not appear that anyone was targeted other than for the reason they happened to be walking by.

There could be other people who were victims in a similar attack but who have not contacted the police; we encourage any other victims to contact the Henderson Police.
