Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

Henderson, Nev. – A 54-year-old Henderson man was caught within five minutes after he fled a bank he tried to rob at knifepoint Thursday morning.
Michael Kasica was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon charges. He is accused of entering the Wells Fargo Bank branch at 900 N. Green Valley Parkway near Pebble Road about 9:50 a.m., pulling a knife out of his waistband and demanding money from a bank employee.
The employee called from her desk to request the money but the suspect became impatient that it was taking so long to get the money and fled the bank without getting any cash.
An officer spotted the suspect walking on Pebble Road just a few minutes after the attempted robbery after the description was broadcasted on the police radio. The suspect said he threw the knife into the bushes when he saw the police car coming.
The knife detectives believe was used in the robbery was recovered in the area.
