Community Gardens in Henderson
A community garden is, quite simply, any piece of land gardened by a group
of people. Community gardens have many benefits - they beautify an area,
produce healthy and nutritious food and bring neighbors together, which
increases sense of community.
Last
year, the Coventry HOA was awarded funds through the City's
Neighborhood Enhancement Grant to help start a community garden in their
common area. A number of residents participated and the group is looking
forward to the next growing season.
If you have an idea for a community garden in your neighborhood or would
like to learn more, contact Emily Lewis at (702) 267-2008 or

Earlier this week, you should have received an invitation to our next
Neighborhood Leadership Forum!
On Wednesday, October 27 at 7:30
a.m.,
Bob
Cooper, Manager of Economic Development, will be discussing what the
City is doing to spur economic growth in our community. His presentation
will include information on economic diversification, real estate
strategies, job creation programs, as well as redevelopment in our downtown
area of Water Street.
We will also recognize HOAs
and NHAs that have positively impacted our community. If you know of a
neighborhood group that has gone above and beyond,
nominate them for an
award.
