All of the links that you need to explore career opportunities with the City of Henderson will be at your fingertips. Be sure to remember to keep a record of your user name and password once you have set up an account. You’ll need this information to apply for other positions or to check the status of your application. Once you enter the H.I.R.E. website, you’ll have access to the available positions. Click on "City Employment" to explore current career opportunities. If you are interested in a position that is not currently available on the City job list, click on the “Interest Card” link from a job description and follow the online directions on how to apply.

Computer and Internet Access: If you don’t have access to a computer or access to the web, there are a number of ways you can explore career opportunities with the City. H.I.R.E. computers are available for your use in the Human Resources Department Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. We are located on the second floor of City Hall at 240 Water Street; Henderson, NV 89002. You also have the ability to explore H.I.R.E. from any computer with internet access.

How to be Prepared to Apply: Once you have logged on to the H.I.R.E. site, there is certain information you will need to provide in order to apply for a job. Please be prepared to provide personal information including:

• Mailing Address
• E-mail Address
• Phone Number
• Education
• Employment History
• References

No e-mail address? Free e-mail is available through a number of providers. Options include:

• MSN Hotmail
• Yahoo Mail
• AOL AIM Mail

How to Check Application Status: Check your e-mail for status notices. We’ll be notifying you of every step in the process. If you are no longer being considered for a position, a notice will be sent to the e-mail address you used on your application. If you are selected for an interview or an offer of employment, you will be contacted by telephone.

No application is submitted until you click on the “ACCEPT” button. Once you submit an application, you cannot go back and make changes to the submitted application. Once you complete the online application, be sure to click “SAVE” to retain the information you have entered. If you close your browser prior to clicking “SAVE,” you will lose any information you entered after the last time you clicked “SAVE.” If at any time you need to exit out of the application, just click the “SAVE” button at the bottom of the form. You can return to your application later by logging into your account with your user name and password. Don’t forget, once you have completed your online application in H.I.R.E., you can apply for multiple positions that are open.
