Automated External Defibrillator Loan Program
The city offers use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at no cost for those reserving a city facility or park. An AED is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and is used to treat sudden cardiac arrest. If needed, it can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm.
An event organizer, coach or participant may request an AED when reserving a city facility. Request should be submitted at least three weeks prior to the scheduled public event. Qualified users must be at least 18 years old and complete a 30-minute training class. The event must take place within the city of Henderson and a refundable deposit is required for the return of the device within 24 hours after the event concludes, or the following Monday for weekend events.
For additional information contact the Henderson Fire Department at 702-267-2280. Completed forms should be submitted to Scott.Vivier@cityofhenderson.com. Please do NOT send park reservation requests to the Fire Department. They accept AED requests ONLY.
