After the Fire is Out - A Guide to Coping with Fire Loss
Taking Care of Your Pets
If you have family pets that require shelter in the event you are unable to stay in your residence, there are resources available. Keep in mind that there are many hotels and motels in the Henderson, Clark County area that accept pets.
If this is not an option at the time of the fire, you should try to contact friends, nearby family members or a veterinarian to arrange temporary care of your pet.
The City of Henderson Animal Control Bureau may provide emergency temporary shelter in case such as these. If called to respond, the Animal Control Bureau will take the pet into the shelter and provide temporary immediate shelter for them. They can provide the owners the names and addresses of various boarding facilities for more long term housing if they don’t have friends or family.
Please Note:
The Animal Control Bureau will vaccinate and make sure the animals are licensed in the City before
release to the owners.
