Pets need to be licensed in the City of Henderson as soon as they are old enough to get their rabies shots. When coming in to license pets, please bring proof of current rabies vaccination with the expiration date and if the pet has been spayed/neutered we need to see proof of that as well. Most veterinarians give a computerized printout with all this information. You can click on this link to Animal Control for further information.

  • Can I pay my property taxes here? If not, where do I need to go?
Property Taxes must be paid at the County Assessor's Office. There is an assessor's office located at 245 N. Stephanie Street Suite B. Their hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and they may be reached by phone at (702) 455-3882.
  • Why do I have to 'pay for' ambulance transportation? I thought that's what my taxes were for?
If an ambulance responds to an emergency call and the citizen receives treatment at the scene but is not transported to a hospital; the cost is covered by the property taxes. A citizen is charged a fee for ambulance service only when they are transported to a hospital for further care. Funding for this service does not come from the property taxes collected and only those people benefiting from this service are required to pay for it. Henderson's ambulance ordinance #2.29.010 sets forth the fees for this service.
