Economic Development

Common Questions
  • I am considering a business expansion to Nevada. What type of information and assistance can you provide so that I may evaluate Henderson as a potential location?
The City of Henderson Economic Development Division is available to serve as your clearinghouse for information on a wide array of topics relating to doing business in Southern Nevada. Assistance is based upon the particular information needs of each individual business. Assistance might include the provision of economic or demographic information, introduction to community leaders and business contacts, identifying potential incentive programs and services, site/community tours, analysis of operating costs, commercial/industrial land and building searches, and appointments with local regulatory agencies and potential sub-suppliers.
  • What is Economic Development?
It's the primary mission of more than 8,000 organizations in America - not counting chambers of commerce. It is the top priority of nearly every governor and mayor. However, it means different things to different people.

Essentially, Economic Development is a process to improve the well being of the community by creating a balanced, healthy economy. Henderson's economic development strategy, as well as that of many other organizations across America, centers around three main focus areas: business recruitment, local business expansion and retention, and local business start-ups.
